KENCA has
been pursuing close cooperation with international organizations
to help local engineering businesses have easy access to and succeed
in overseas markets, which will strengthen the international competitiveness
of its members.
To this end, KENCA holds annual conferences with international
organizations, participates in various seminars, and supports
the overseas training of the members, invites professionals to
Korea to give lectures, translates and distributes materials,
and conducts overseas market surveys. |

the world. |

FIDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers) |

Becoming a member as of 1982, KENCA
has been attending the regular general meeting every year, introducing
the latest trends of international engineering businesses to local
engineering ones, concluding an agreement on education cooperation
with FIDIC in March 2003, and establishing the FIDIC-KENCA-KAIST
Training Center which provides four professional training courses
to local engineers.
In addition, KENCA has been translating international contract
materials published by FIDIC and distributing them to local members,
and held a FIDIC workshop successfully in October 2003 to help
not only local participants but also visitors from abroad understand
FIDIC contract materials. In order to give ADB Business Opportunity
to local engineering professions, KENCA held ADB seminar in Seoul
in April 2004.
Through this seminar, KENCA members obtained important information
on exploring overseas markets.
Also KENCA will invite executive committee members of FIDIC to
Korea this year to give presentations on the latest trends of
international engineering businesses and also give advice on exploration
of local engineering businesses into overseas markets. |

ASPAC (Asia-Pacific Member Associations) |

ASPAC is a meeting of about 20 Asian
countries in FIDIC, which was founded in 1998, holding a meeting
during the regular general meeting of FIDIC every year and having
in-depth discussions about mutual cooperation among its members. |

TCDPAP |
| |
TCDPAP is an organization under the
UN having 13 member countries such as Bangladesh, China, India,
Indonesia, Iran, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines,
Sri Lanka and Vietnam with the objective of advertising and developing
projects with consultants in Asia, providing an arena of cooperation
for its members through its annual general meetings. |

| Status of Cooperation
with Overseas Engineering Associations |
| KENCA is establishing a
close cooperation system with foreign engineering associations,
promoting mutual cooperation among its members such as exchanges
of information and engineers, and joint academic researches and
investigations. |

ACEC (American Council of Engineering Companies) |

Having a meeting with the American Engineering
Corporation (ACEC) for mutual cooperation between the two countries
at the general meeting of FIDIC in September 2002, KENCA has consulted
with ACEC about the conclusion of an MOU, Heung-Il Park, vice
president of KENCA, visited Boston on the invitation of the ACEC
president and attended the regular general meeting of ACEC held
in Boston in May 2003 and had a discussion about the mutual cooperation
between both associations. As a result, both associations concluded
an MOU at the regular general meeting held in Springs, Colorado,
in May 2004. |

ACEC (Association of Consulting Engineers of Canada) |

KENCA had discussions with ACEC concerning
mutual cooperation between both associations in 2002, and both
reached an agreement on the terms and conditions of an MOU. KENCA
concluded an MOU with ACEC in May 2004. |

AJCE (Association of Japanese Consulting Engineers) |
| |
KENCA held a symposium with a renowned
Japanese guest speaker participating in June 2004. Both associations
have plans to have in-depth discussions to strengthen mutual cooperation. |

CNAEC (China National Association of Engineering) |
| |
With an MOU with CNAEC concluded in
2001, KENCA has been holding regular meetings in China and in
Korea alternately, and will have its fourth meeting this year.
Both associations have discussed concrete ways to cooperate, providing
the members with the latest information about new projects and
joint ventures of both countries. In 2003 both associations had
their first joint seminar for business executives with theme of
"Present Status and Prospect of Road and Railway Systems"
of both countries, facilitating market access each other. |

ENAA (Engineering Advancement Association of Japan) |

KENCA has encouraged local engineers
to participate in the regular symposiums held by ENAA every year
for training, and plans to hold regular meetings and joint academic
events to boost mutual cooperation. |

VBI (Verband Beratender Ingenieure) |
| |
In a way to seek cooperation with the
VBI in Germany, KENCA has already tuned opinions of both associations
about mutual cooperation with executives of VBI at the regular
general meeting of FIDIC held in Paris in 2003, and will continue
its effort to do so this year. |

VECAS (Vietnam Engineering Consultant Association) |
| |
VECAS in Vietnam has joined cooperative
efforts of KENCA by sending a delegation to the 2003 FIDIC workshop
held by KENCA. KENCA will continue to serve engineering businesses
in both countries in cooperation with VECAS, and to this end,
we will conclude an MOU with VECAS this year and hold a meeting
to ensure mutual cooperation between both associations. |
