Legal & Institutional Advancement

To promote the growth of the engineering industry and a market-friendly environment in accordance with the global standards, the Association has undertaken various R&D projects and legal system improvement projects.

Promoting the systemization and advancement of ordinances and systems related to engineering through completion of the Engineering Industry Promotion Act and establishing the general plan for promoting engineering industry.


Engineering Industry Promotion Act

  • With the improvement of the "Engineering Industry Promotion Act" as the root for the development and support of the engineering industry, Korean and overseas environment changes will be actively dealt with while a foothold for continuous growth is built up.
  • Promoting partial amendment, such as refresher training of some engineers, report of ordering.
  • Collecting difficulties owing to the enforcement of the law.

Engineering Development Plan

  • A governmental long-term plan and support for continuous development of the engineering industry
  • Effective progression by developing and executing a three-year promotion plan, as well as reviewing the current state of detailed practices on a regular basis (Operation of Engineering Industry Policy Review Committee and Working Committee [Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy])
  • Setting up general plan and action plan at the beginning of every year for promoting the operators and industry.

Engineering Statistics

  • Statistics development for analyzing the engineering industry state and trend
  • Development and publication of an engineering statistics handbook (including engineering firms and technical engineer state), wage state survey, management analysis of engineering service industry, and contract record (consigned by Statistics Korea)

Improvement of Engineering-related regulation

  • Suggesting improvement of the compilation of Government budget guidelines [reflected at the end of April]
  • Newly setting up the construction supervision out of industrial facility tariff rate, support the management of the standard of estimate of the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy.
  • Active responding to the revision of other laws infringing engineering business field, such as the Construction Technology Management Act.
